Pink Poly Cotton Beekeeping Suit – Traditional Full Coverage, Built to Last Seasons

This is our classic full-coverage bee suit in a soft pink finish, built on exactly the same pre-shrunk heavyweight poly cotton as the natural white version. Nothing is downgraded for the color: same fabric weight, same YKK zips, same dual veil system, same reinforced stress points. The pale pink shade behaves like any light-colored suit around bees while making your gear instantly identifiable in a shared apiary. It's our most-gifted suit for beginners, beekeeping courses, and family hives.

Key Features

  • Pre-Shrunk Poly Cotton Blend: a tightly woven polyester and cotton weave for strong sting resistance with the breathability of cotton, pre-shrunk so the size you order is the size you keep
  • Solid Full Coverage: no ventilation gaps, the most straightforward barrier for cool-weather work, defensive colonies, and swarm retrieval
  • Dual Veil System: round 360° veil plus a fencing veil with flip-open front, both removable and washable
  • Leather Gloves Included: long-cuff cow hide leather with elastic sleeve seals
  • Ankle Protectors Included: zippered protectors close the gap between pant leg and boot
  • Heavy-Duty YKK Zippers: at front, legs, and veil, with fabric storm flaps over the teeth
  • Elastic Cuffs and Waist: plus Velcro closures at wrists and ankles for a bee-proof seal
  • Zippered Pockets: chest, hip, and thigh, sized for a phone, hive tool, and queen cages

Benefits

  • Built to be washed hard, propolis, smoker soot, and honey come out in a normal machine wash without the weave losing its shape or color
  • Relaxed cut so it doesn't bind when you bend over a brood box
  • Reinforced stitching at knees, seat, shoulders, and all stress seams
  • Everything you need in one box, nothing else to buy first
  • 21 unisex sizes, XXS to 10XL, plus Stout and Tall Slim cuts

Ideal For

  • Beginners, beekeeping courses, and family hives
  • Cool-weather inspections and spring build-up checks
  • Anyone who wants gear that's instantly identifiable in a shared apiary
  • Gifting, a standout first suit for a new beekeeper
  • Beekeepers who want a durable, affordable second suit

Care and Maintenance

Remove both veils, wash cold on a gentle cycle without bleach, and air dry away from heat. Propolis, smoker soot, and honey come out in a normal machine wash. Wipe the leather gloves with a damp cloth, never machine wash leather. Wash regularly in season since sting pheromones in fabric can agitate bees.

Prefer a different color? The same suit is available in White and Khaki. See the full Poly Cotton Beekeeping Suit collection, or step up to our 3 Layer Mesh Beekeeping Suit for maximum airflow in hot climates.

Why choose a solid poly cotton suit over a ventilated one?

Solid poly cotton gives you an uninterrupted fabric barrier, better warmth in early spring and late autumn, more resistance to snagging on frames and brambles, and a lower price. If most of your hive work happens in mild weather rather than peak summer heat, it's the practical choice.

What is the fabric made of?

A heavyweight pre-shrunk polyester and cotton blend. The polyester gives strength, shape retention and fast drying; the cotton gives breathability and comfort against the skin. Pre-shrinking means the fit stays true after washing.

Will I overheat in it during summer?

In a mild summer, worn over light clothing and used in the cooler parts of the day, it is comfortable. For sustained work in high heat and humidity, look at our Poly Cotton Semi-Ventilated Suit or our 3 Layer Super Cool Mesh Suit instead.

Is it sting-proof?

The weave is tight enough that a honey bee sting cannot reach skin through it when worn loose over normal clothing. Stings only get through where fabric is pulled taut against the body, so avoid ordering too small and keep cuffs, ankles, and the veil zip sealed.

Can you still get stung wearing this suit?

No suit, including this one, guarantees you'll never be stung. Bending or reaching can pull fabric tight against skin, and a sting can get through wherever that happens. Sizing up slightly and avoiding a snug fit reduces this risk significantly.

Which veil is better, round or fencing?

Both are included with the suit. The Round 360° Veil holds the mesh well away from your face for full all-round vision, preferred by most beekeepers for frame-by-frame inspections. The Fencing Veil is lighter, lower profile, and flips open in a second for quick checks.

Is a full suit better than a jacket or veil alone?

A full suit protects your legs as well as your upper body, which matters most for defensive colonies, swarm work, or beginners still learning bee behavior. A jacket or veil suits quick checks on calm hives where full leg coverage isn't needed.

What size should I order?

Take your normal clothing size. The cut is generous and designed to be worn over clothes, and the fabric is pre-shrunk. Size up if you are between sizes or wear heavy layers underneath. Stout and Tall Slim fits are available for body shapes a standard cut doesn't suit.

How should I wash and store it?

Remove the veils and gloves, machine wash cold or warm on a gentle cycle, and line dry. No bleach, no fabric softener, no hot tumble drying. Store it fully dry, away from mice, which will chew a stored suit given the chance.

Is this suit suitable for a complete beginner?

Yes, and it's one of our most popular first suits. It arrives complete with both veils, leather gloves, and ankle protectors, so a beginner has everything needed for a first inspection without ordering separate accessories.

Why is white the traditional beekeeping suit color?

White reflects sunlight rather than absorbing it, keeping you cooler in direct sun, and it sits in the light, low-contrast color range that keeps colonies calm. It's also easiest for spotting a stray bee on the fabric before you head indoors.

How is this different from the pink or khaki version?

All three share the exact same pre-shrunk poly cotton fabric, zips, and stress-point reinforcement, only the color changes. White is the traditional choice, khaki hides stains better for daily field work, and pink suits gifting and family hives.

How long does this suit typically last?

With normal seasonal use and the recommended cold, gentle wash cycle, the heavyweight poly cotton weave and reinforced stress points are built to hold their shape and protection over multiple seasons rather than a single year.
